Tokeneke Kids Care Club

Kids Care Club is a national organization dedicated to helping children develop the spirit of charity and pro-active compassion through hands-on community projects. We work together to make a difference in our school, our community, and our world–but we also save time each meeting for dancing, games, and snacks!

The Tokeneke Kids Care Club is open to interested students (first through fifth grade). We conduct open registration in mid September and enroll the first 50 students into the club. Our meetings take place one Monday most months of the school year from 2:55-3:45pm in the Common Room. Meetings will generally feature a guest speaker, a creative project and a nut-free snack. Past Kids Care activities include projects such as clothing drives and food collections and annual events such as the turkey drive and Groove-a-thon.

Bringing Smiles to Seniors

Monday, February 12, from 2:55 to 3:45

The holiday of love is approaching and what better way to celebrate than sharing our friendship with and helping spread happiness to senior citizens in our community. The executive director of At Home In Darien (, a nonprofit dedicated to providing services and aid for the elderly, will be coming in to talk to the kids, and then we will be decorating and assembling Care Bags and making cards to give to home-bound seniors to brighten their day.

We are asking each child to bring in a travel-size hand sanitizer or lotion and a travel-size tissue pack for inclusion in our Care Bags. Please bring in donations either before the meeting or to the meeting (prior to the meeting start). The kids will be creating the Care Bags at the meeting.

We only have a few meetings left, but there are still opportunities to get involved.
